MLK UNITY BREAKFAST
The annual DuPage County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “I Have a Dream” Unity Breakfast spreads Dr. King's message of equality, justice, and unity in DuPage County and inspires action.
All net proceeds from the annual Breakfast support the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Fund of DuPage Foundation. The Fund augments the Foundation’s annual Community Impact Grant Program in health, human services, and education, focusing on supporting DuPage 501(c)(3) public charities prioritizing organizations providing programs for underserved BiPOC communities.

SHEFALI M. TRIVEDI
Shefali M. Trivedi is the Founder of ABetterWe.com, a website focused on empowering communities and individuals through resources, services, and curated events.
She has over thirty years of experience in marketing, sales and project management and has worked for in the government and nonprofit sectors during the last twenty years. Her career began at Merck & Co. in pharmaceutical sales, and she transitioned to the nonprofit sector with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, one of the largest food banks in the country. Her service career extended to government as she worked on countywide environmental initiatives in DuPage County.
Shefali most recently served for nine years as Executive Director of Giving DuPage, the DuPage County Volunteer Center. During her tenure, Shefali was proud of many signature accomplishments for Giving DuPage, including a 250% increase in volunteer engagement, thousand-fold growth in their digital marketing presence on social networks & email subscribers and creating a Nonprofit Partners Conference. Under her leadership, Giving DuPage launched their first ever giving day event at the beginning of the pandemic in April 2020. In three years, this event engaged over 7,300 donors and raised over $995,000 for hundreds of DuPage nonprofit organizations.
She is a sought-after speaker with chambers, colleges, community groups and faith organizations. In 2019, she was a recognized as a recipient of the ‘Most Influential Women in Business’ award with the Daily Herald Business Ledger.
Shefali continues to be a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, social impact, diversity & inclusion, the arts and sustainability. She personally enjoys simpler pleasures of nice dinners, walks in nature, watching the food network and spending time with loved ones.
